2013 Summer Reading Program Comes to an End
1,420 books reviewed and more than 846,000 minutes read by participants this summer!
The 2013 Summer Reading Program has come to an end, and this year's participants really dug in! This summer, 6,369 readers registered for Norfolk Public Library's (NPL) annual Summer Reading Program (SRP) in categories for all ages, from babies to grandparents, and everyone in between! The youth SRP participants logged more than 846,000 minutes read since June 15 and the adults read and reviewed 1,420 books! All participants who completed the program were entered into drawings for the opportunity to win one grand prize for each age group, which included a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Nook HD, Kindle Fire HD, and a "Be a Reader" Bucket of Fun for the Library’s youngest readers. Events were planned throughout the summer for Norfolk residents to enjoy at all of Norfolk’s public libraries in celebration of the Summer Reading Program.
