Woolworth's Sit-In Demonstration The lunch counter at the Woolworth's Store on Granby Street where 38 young African-Americans held a peaceful sit-in demonstration to protest the segregated lunch counter. Several have school books while others were dressed in ROTC uniforms from Norfolk Virginia State College. The demonstration began at 5:30pm and ended at 6:10pm when they left peacefully.
