|Description :||The first commercial air service in Norfolk was started in 1926 by the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Air Service, and ran to Washington and Philadelphia. It was discontinued after a few months because of high costs. In 1929, Ben Epstein opened an Air Taxi Service between Norfolk and Richmond from his airfield on Granby Street.
