Virginia National Bank of Norfolk The Church Street Bank was organized in 1915 at the corner of Church and Freemason Streets, changing its name to American Exchange Bank in 1920. In 1924, Virginia National Bank of Norfolk took over the deposits of the American Exchange Bank and thereby acquired this branch office on Church Street.
