The Friends of the Norfolk Public Library was founded in 1956. Members engage in a variety of activities, from raising money to fostering a love for reading and learning. Those efforts include:

Raising money for the new book fund by organizing used book sales.

Lobbying for increased state and local funding and improvement of existing facilities.

Funding special needs of the library such as the summer reading program, the library newsletter, and the annual Book Review Contest.
