Passage to a Ringed World:
The Cassini-Huygens Mission to Saturn and Titan.
Linda J. Spilker, editor.
The Cassini Huygens probe was launched from Kennedy Space Center on October 15 of last year. Its projected seven-year mission will study the fabled Saturn, its rings and satellites - especially the giant Titan. Interestingly, it's a joint United States and European project.

The planned progress of the mission is clearly described, with technical aspects well explained for the layman. Charts show the objectives, the mission at various projected points, details of flybys, cross sections of the vessels, and their instruments. Included are fascinating sidebars such as "The Fourth State of Matter," and "How to Name a Moon." Beautiful color illustrations, some from the Hubble space telescope, are plentiful.

NASA's website, http://www.nasa.gov provides frequent status reports.
