2010 Summer Reading Programs…Sign Up Today and Earn Great Prizes!

Norfolk, VA (July 13, 2010) - Registration is well underway at the Norfolk Public Library for its annual Summer Reading Program. Signing up for SRP is easy. Just visit one of the twelve NPL locations or the bookmobile to register online for any of the four summer reading programs: Baby Starfish (for babies and toddlers, ages birth to 4); Hook a Book – Read! (for youth, ages 5 – 12); Submerge Yourself @ the Library! (for teens, ages 13 – 17); and Reading – It’s a “Shore” Thing! (for adults, 18 and up).

 After registering for SRP, you will receive a free NPL water bottle! For the rest of the summer, read books, log the minutes you’ve read to earn prizes, and enjoy free programs and entertainment! Prizes include t-shirts for school age children and teens who read over 300 minutes, a beach towel for adults who read three or more books, and prize drawings for all four Summer Reading Programs! Don’t delay your chance to win - register online today at any NPL location or at home!

This summer, NPL explores the marine world with programs being presented by The Virginia Aquarium, Nauticus, The Virginia Living Museum, and more! There is something for the entire family to enjoy, and the best part is that library programs are always free! Here’s a peek at programs scheduled for July and early August.
