NORFOLK CITY COUNCIL MEMBER DAUN HESTER OPENS NEW KIDZONE AT NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY’S JANAF BRANCH LIBRARY
Norfolk, VA (December 27, 2006) – On Wednesday, January 17, City Council Member Daun Hester and Norfolk Public Library will celebrate the opening of the new KidZone at Janaf Branch Library at 10:30 a.m. The celebration will include a ribbon cutting.
KidZones are interactive environments where parents and children connect through play, while engaging in early literacy activities. Visits to a KidZone can increase a child’s vocabulary, enhance print awareness, and encourage imagination.
Norfolk Public Library currently has 3 KidZones, one at Larchmont Branch Library, Kirn Memorial Library, and Horace C. Downing Branch Library. Though the KidZones have similar toys, each environment has its own unique appearance. Discover new countries and cultures at Larchmont or explore the jungle at Horace C. Downing.
