Norfolk Main Library at 235 E. Plume Street to open January 3, 2009
Last Day of Service at Kirn Memorial Library is Wednesday, December 31, 2008
Norfolk, VA (December 29, 2008). On, Wednesday, December 31, 2008, Kirn Memorial Library will close its doors at 5:00 p.m. for the final time to make way for Light-Rail Transit. On Saturday, January 3, 2009, the Norfolk Main Library, located at 235 E. Plume Street will open at 10:00 a.m. The first library services that will open at Norfolk Main Library will be the computer technology center on the lower level featuring 60 computers, and a staffed book return. Additional library services at Norfolk Main Library will resume as the other three floors of the library become available. The hours at Norfolk Main Library will be Monday-Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
