Norfolk Public Library Changes Fines for Overdue Library Materials
Beginning July 6, 2010

Norfolk, VA (Revised June 14, 2010).  In light of recent city budget reductions, the Norfolk Public Library will be increasing its fines for overdue library materials. The new fines, effective July 6, 2010, will be:
All Books & Music CDs:                       20 cents a day/max $6.00 per item
DVDs & Videos:                                  $1.25 a day/max $10.00 per item
Interlibrary Loan:                                   $1.25 a day/ max $10.00 per item
Book Express:                                       $1.25 a day/max $10.00 per item

The increase in fines for all books includes children’s books as well. There will no longer be a difference in fines for children’s books checked out on juvenile cards.

Any resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Norfolk property owner, or person who is employed in the City of Norfolk may receive a free Norfolk Public Library card.
