CELEBRATE CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK (Nov. 13-19) AT NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY WITH NEWS ANCHOR DON ROBERTS & CANINE BOOK CHARACTER, BISCUIT

Norfolk, VA (November 13, 2006) – Local News Anchor Don Roberts will read a book by author Alyssa Capucilli at Norfolk Public Library’s Jordan-Newby Branch in recognition of Children’s Book Week. The program is on Saturday, November 18 at 12 noon. In addition, Capucilli’s book character, Biscuit, will make an appearance during the event. Roberts will also read his children’s book. Parents and children are encouraged to bring a camera to take pictures.

Children’s Book Week is a celebration of the written word. The week is designed to introduce young people to new authors and ideas in schools, libraries, homes and bookstores. Through Children's Book Week, the Children's Book Council encourages young people and their caregivers to discover the complexity of the world beyond their own experience through books.
