FRIENDS OF NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY'S ANNUAL BOOKS & BREW AND USED BOOK SALE: OCTOBER 17-21, 2008
Norfolk, VA (October 15, 2008) - Fall is a great time to turn the pages of a good book. Join us for the Friends of the Norfolk Public Library's 6th Annual Books and Brew Happy Hour and Used Book Sale on Friday, October 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kirn Memorial Library, and you will have thousands of titles to choose from! Enjoy live entertainment by Lewis McGehee, delicious food, and the opportunity to purchase bargain books, wine and brew. Tickets for the event are $15 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Kirn Memorial Library or from a Friends member for $12.00.
Each year, members of the Friends of the Norfolk Public Library organize thousands of books for the Used Book Sale, which runs for five days. This is a great opportunity for educators, parents, budget-minded readers, collectors, college students and anyone who loves reading to find a great book. Select from a variety of books including: fiction, nonfiction, biographies, how-to, reference, children's books and more. Hardcover books sell for $3.00, while paperbacks and children's books sell for $1.00 or $2.00.

Last year, the Friends' used book sale and Books and Brew event raised approximately $20,000 for Norfolk Public Library. Books at the sale come from many sources, including donations and weeding of the Library's collection. Don't miss this opportunity to find an inexpensive read for the fall and to help your library.
