    Includes more than 25,000 notable people from ancient times to the present day. Can be searched by name, birth year, death year, position held, profession, literary and artistic works, miscellaneous achievements, and other keywords.

  • Biographical Directory of the United States Congress.
    1774 to the present. Search by name, position, and/or state.

  • Biographies of America's Founding Fathers.
    This site is divided into three categories: Signers of the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. The biographies are mostly scanned from two sources: Lives of the Signers to the Declaration of Independence (1829), and The United States Manual of Biography and History (1856).

  • Notable Names Database (NNDB) Decalogue.
    Includes over 34,000 selected profiles you can browse by last name or keyword search by "living people," "dead people," "band names," "book titles," or "movie titles." The unique feature of this database is its abilities to cross-reference and make maps between people.

  • Samuel F. B. Morse Papers, 1793-1919.
    From the Library of Congress, this site contains nearly 6,500 items documenting the invention of the telegraph, Morse's career as a painter, his family life, this travels, his interest in photography, religion, and the nativist movement.
