Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Created by Congress to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's banking system. This site includes the FDIC "Institution Directory," a searchable database with demographic data and financial profiles of each FDIC-insured depository institution. Search by certificate number, bank, geographic location, charter, chartering agency, federal regulator, primary insurance fund, and asset and deposit size. Quarterly and annual data is available.
Federal Election Commission (FEC). Has financial information about candidates, parties, and PACs. This site also has federal elections and voting statistics, news releases, and a downloadable National Mail Voter Registration form.
Social Security Administration (SSA). Includes benefit information, a guide for employers, legislation, disability process, and other public information resources.
