    A Crash Course in Studios, by Chris Dashiell, is a short, illustrated, to-the-point cinema history. Covers the major studios, the minor studios, and the independents. A must-see site for those who love old movies.

  • Facets Mutli-Media.
    Search Facets Video for foreign, classic, cult, art, and hard-to-find videos. Also includes information on foreign and documentary films as well as a weekly newsletter of features about the international and independent film scenes.

  • Greatest Films of All Time
    Provided by Tim Dirks, this site contains information on hundreds of classic films, arranged by year, genre, and title. Also, there is also a section on memorable film quotations (which are linked to the movie they came from), but there is no keyword search at this time.

  • Internet Movie Database.
    Search this database by movie title, cast/crew names, character name, year, genre, country, certificate, production company, or location. Word search by quotes, plot summaries, soundtracks, or biographical data. Also has all the Academy Awards by year/category; top 250 movies (as voted by visitors to this site); new releases, and events today from movie history.

    This site claims to be "the largest online database for movie reviews." It was founded in 1993 by Stewart Clamen and claims to provide a searchable index of all published and available movie reviews.

  • New York Times Movie Reviews.
    Browse by title, genre, critic, country of origin, or year back to 1913. Includes reviews of current movies and a movies to be released in the coming months. Also includes DVDs.
