Congratulations to the Norfolk Public Library
Volunteer of the Month
October 2011

Christian Collins

Christian has been volunteering at the Jordan-Newby Branch Library since June 2011. She is a 10th grade homeschooler who enjoys writing, listening to her iPod, skating and shopping and, of course, volunteering at the library. Christian avidly volunteered throughout the summer months. Since school has started back she continues to volunteer on the weekends. She was an advocate of the Summer Reading Program and promoted it throughout the entire summer. Christian was always making sure all the youth that enter the branch had signed up for the program and that they were aware of other programs Jordan-Newby held throughout the week. Christian is an outstanding volunteer who not only loves to read but loves to devote her time and energy to cleaning toys, organizing the YA collection, and keeping the branch parking lot clean. Christian is a teen with great potential and shows lots of ambition. She is always willing to go above and beyond when it comes to influencing our young audiences to get involved with weekly programs. Melissa Bristol, library employee, states, “Her overall performance as a volunteer here at Jordan-Newby Library has exceeded my expectations.”

Thank YOU, Christian, for all you do for NPL!

The Norfolk Public Library appreciates Christian’s dedication to the library volunteer program

She will also be featured in the NPL Newsletter.

The “Volunteer of the Month” receives a $10.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble and well as a Certificate of Appreciation.
